Definition: IP Intelligence
IP Intelligence, which is often called “geo-intelligence” or “geo-location” technology, now plays a pivotal role in the prevention of online fraud and identity theft and has evolved into more than just geographic information about an online user to include other information such as domain name, ISP, connection type, proxy identification and many more.
This technology is non-invasive, collecting information about online users based solely on their IP addresses, meaning this information can be used for authentication without the need for invasive cookies, page tagging, flash objects, software or script downloads.
Digital Resolve’s parent company, Digital Envoy, invented and patented this technology in 1999 and Digital Resolve is the authority in applying this technology to online fraud and identity theft protection.
